When the Eason Family called Pro Roofing they were eager to get their roof replaced. They were experiencing issues with leaks through their soffit areas of their Kirkland home. Their gutters were also failing. They had spoken with other contractors, but when Pro Roofing came over they immediately knew who they were going to go with.

The Kirkland family was really impressed with the way the proposal was laid out. They also loved how it was more of an educational process and a problem solving session rather than a sales call.

Pro Roofing recommended the CertainTeed Landmark TL Composition Roof because of the Architectural look it has. Pro Roofing, of Kirkland, also recommended the K-Style gutters in white and the MicroMesh gutter filter system. The gutters paired with the new Asphalt Roof look terrific!

The Landmark TL has a very thick look and appearance. It’s almost like having a cedar shake roof on your home. The Landmark TL color chosen by the Kirkland family was the Country Gray which has lots of variation.

The K-Style gutters are smaller and have a lot of curve to them making a really nice trim around the home almost like coloring around the edge of a shape on a picture.

The MicroMesh installments on top of the K-Style gutters really filter out the leaves, needles, and debris. The Kirkland household should not have to worry about cleaning out their gutters for a long time.

Pro Roofing NW, a Kirkland roofing company, really delivered for this Kirkland family. For the next several years, They’ll be covered!

Deck Defense:

Operation, block water damage! In general Synthetic felt is awesome! Traditional felt is essentially ultra heavy paper socked in asphalt. The main problem with traditional ASTM felt is when it gets stapled or nailed down to the deck below and the roofers walk on it. Inevitably the tension from their walking on a steep surface stresses the felt and it will tear around every nail or staple penetration. Leave it overnight and voila! You’re the proud owner of a leaky roof! It will require heavy tarps overnight; sometimes even when it doesn’t rain. Yep, even heavy dew can create small leaks or saturate the felt which creates the second big problem with traditional felt, wrinkles! When the felt dries it will shrink and bumps will appear. When the composition shingle is applied over the dry-brittle felt it can potentially buckle or have lumps creating cracks, granular loss, and uneven wear. Many roofers will cut, with a razor blade, the felt to lay it down flat, but then what’s the point of having felt? The cut felt will provide some moisture wicking characteristics, but that is really a very small function of felt anyway. The solution… Synthetic felt.

Pro Roofing uses Synthetic felt on all our jobs which raised the quality immensely because when it comes to your new roof, don’t take chances. Ask for the moisture protection that Owens Corning Deck Defense High Performance Roof Underlayment can provide.

Deck Defense underlayment’s durable synthetic construction provides an immediate line of defense-so strong it can protect your rood for up to 6 months of UV exposure! It also acts as a secondary water-shedding barrier for your roof once shingles are installed. In addition, unlike standard felt underlayment, it comes with a 30 year warranty.

A roof is a big investment. That’s why it’s important to make sure it’s done right from the beginning to ensure it is protected from water damage in the attic, such as mold growth and rotting deckborads. One of the first steps to a high-performing roof is using underlayment in conjunction with shingle to help shield your home from moisture infiltration.

Repels and protects:

*Offers long-term moisture protection for your roof compared to standard felt underlayment.

*Acts as a non-absorbent, secondary water-shedding barrier.

*Reduces water intrusion when exposed, which could lead to mold and premature roof failure.

Guards and withstands:

*Shields your home from interior damage during roof installation.

*Protects the roof deck for up to 6 months of UV exposure! That’s crazy! (stupid line below)

*Designed to perform under extreme weather.

*30 year warranty.

Endures and performs:

*Durable synthetic construction resists tearing when walked on.

*Stays intact in high winds.

*Reduces the chance for tears that cause leaks due to unique bottom surface coating compared to felt underlayment.

Category | Deck Defense Underlayment | Conventional #30 Organic Felt

(Lighter) 3.1 lbs per square 20 lbs per square

(UV Exposure) Can be exposed for 6 months Needs to be covered immediately

(Weather Performance) No wrinkle or curling when wet May curl, wrinkle, crack when exposed to moisture

(Safety) Grips when wet Slick and wrinkled in wet conditions

(Nailing Patten) Nailing aids for proper application No nailing guides

(Durability) Ultra-tough, great against high winds Tears when stressed by foot traffic or winds

(Water Proof) Repels and sheds water Absorbs water and moisture

(Surface Temperature) Light color reduces temperature Black absorbs heat and increases temperature

(Walkable) Easy to walk on in all conditions (fast) Rips causing rework exposing you for longer

*1978: OC invented the first fiberglass shingle which again is the base of most every composition shingle today

This is going to be a beautiful decision. Shopping for roofing contractors and new shingles is the perfect opportunity to increase the curb appeal of your entire home. Your roof can make up more than half of your home’s exterior, so it should complement your home’s style and exterior color scheme. All Pro Roofing Representatives are highly trained at matching Owens Corning roofing colors with home exteriors.

As you browse your shingle choices, think about how the look of your new roof could improve upon the roof you have now.

Should you choose a different color?

Consider the look of your home’s exterior. A new shingle color installed to perfection by Pro Roofing could bring your look together or even inspire a new color palette. Look at the Duration Designer Colors to add pop to your home!

Have you seen the granules?

Owens Corning shingles get their rich color from a combination of colored granules. Using the colors of these granules, you can coordinate all of you home’s exterior elements- the paint, siding, brick or stone.

Do you need more dimension?

If your home’s exterior is monochromatic, think about adding shingles that appear thicker and give your roof a rich, textured shake look. Consider the Woodcrest or especially the Woodmoor collection from Owens Corning. For homes that already have a detailed exterior, you could choose a softer, more muted shingle. Owens Corning offers a variety of roofing shingles that carry a unique combination of these characteristics.

Pro Roofing IS better / different / unique because, put simply, we care more than all other Mill Creek Roofing Contractors!

We’ve often said how we just wish people could be a fly on the wall during one of our Roofing meetings. If you were THAT fly you would see just how hard we work on new ideas which bring efficiency to our job sites. You would see how we are on the cutting edge of technology in how we market our Mill Creek Roofing Company, how we estimate for Asphalt Shingles, how we install composition roofing shingles, and provide roofing service to our Mill Creek customers.

You would also see how we focus on our Mill Creek roofing production process, and how we adapt our Mill Creek Roofing jobs to make every Composition Roofing job in Mill Creek go perfect. You would sincerely see how much we care about your roofing experience with us.

So yeah, we think about you. In fact, we just don’t think about you a little, we think about you a lot! That’s at the core of why we do what we do and why we act the way we act. We want you to like us. We’re actually trying to make you like us so much you tell your friends about us!
Now, one of the ways we spread how cool we are is through Facebook. You’ve heard of that right? Here is our URL:https://www.Facebook.com/ProRoofingNW ~Go to it! ~

To increase the depth of the any shingle Pro Roofing always installs the state-or-the-art hip and ridge accessories. Owens Corning’s top-of-the-line hip and ridge shingle is called a DecoRidge. It’s thicker, has more depth, and a nicer appeal than traditional hip and ridge shingles.

The composition roof shingle will make more of an impact with DecoRidge hip and ridge shingles. This way Pro Roofing can get maximum dimension and style out of a simpler shingle such as the Oakridge, and match the girth and ultimate thickness like the Woodmoor. In addition to the look, performance, and durability DecoRidge also offers the following:

High Profile:

Multi-layered; thick bull-nosed design offers a refined look.

Durable Construction:

Heavyweight laminate construction with SBS-modified asphalt is the key part of the exposure that won’t crack (even in cold weather) offering high performance and flexibility

Pre-formed Design:

Simple installation with no need for folding or bending during application

Exceptional Performance:

110-MPH wind resistance with standard 2-nail application

Added Protection:

Carries a lifetime (50) year warranty

Matching Color Palette

Many people believe that building or repairing a roof is a job reserved for the long days of summer. Fearing that rain and cold weather will ruin their project, homeowners are sometimes reluctant to hire a roofer in the winter. What they might not know is that the winter months of February and March are some of the best months to install a new roof!

The Pacific Northwest enjoys brisk but clear winter days. The weather may not be warm but these clear dry days are perfect for installing or repairing a roof.

Because of concerns regarding rain and water damage, Pro Roofer contractors use a technique called “tear and seal”. Working methodically across a roof, the older layer is quickly torn away and a layer of synthetic felt is lain down on the roof’s plywood deck. This felt material makes the roof totally waterproof and survive heavy downpours for years to come. Some roofs lack this layer of plywood and so installation is required before laying the waterproof felt. This added step can extend the length of a job, making the clear, dry days of winter the perfect time to work.

A professional roofer can accurately assess the time necessary to install a new roof and can work within windows of good weather during the winter. This level of experience is part of what separates Pro Roofers from independent contractors.

Roofs that feature composition asphalt shingles are actually ideally installed during the cool winter months. These shingles are made from a combination of asphalt and fiberglass and used to cover the waterproof felt covering. During the summer these shingles are subjected to extreme heat which can cause them to become soft. When roof workers walk on the roof, they can leave footprints, scarring the roof permanently. For this reason, roofers prefer to use the clear days of winter to install the shingles, then allow the warmer days of summer to melt the shingles into place, sealing and conforming to the roof. It is only after this takes place that a professional roofer considers a roof “done”.
